Colorado Applies Month (CAM) is a four-week boot camp to get students and adult learners to identify career goals, research education and career options and apply successfully. There are five Outcomes to guide individuals through this process within My Colorado Journey. They are:
- Find careers I will love
- Explore options after my high school diploma or GED
- Connect my high school work & career choices to program options
- Complete my application for education/training or work
- Find and apply for my financial aid
CAM Week 1: Explore Options After High School
During Week 1, participants will explore the many postsecondary pathways, including four-year degrees, two-year degrees, certificates, apprenticeships, military service and direct-to-work. The recommended Outcomes for individuals at this time are Find careers I will love and Explore options after my high school diploma or GED.
CAM Week 2: Identify Careers of Interest
During Week 2, students/adult learners will identify their unique talents and interests and start thinking of ideal career fields. The recommended Outcome for individuals at this time is Connect my high school work & career choices to program options.
CAM Week 3: Select Programs and Prepare Applications
During Week 3, students/adult learners will put it all together. They will find out what kind of education or training they’ll need for their career(s) of interest, identify their after high school option and decide to where they will apply. The recommended Outcomes for individuals at this time are Complete my application for education/training or work and Find and apply for my financial aid.
CAM Week 4: Apply!
This is when it all comes together! Use this time to review participants’ checklists, answer any last minute questions and celebrate everyone’s hard work!
