My Colorado Journey is a groundbreaking statewide platform that connects individuals to work, education and support services exploration and action planning. Bringing together the best state agency tools and activities in one central location, the platform reduces duplication and saves taxpayers money.
The platform makes it easy to evaluate career and program options, set goals and take the steps needed to achieve them, whether you’re an adult switching careers, a high school student choosing a next adventure or a military veteran transitioning into civilian life. This powerful platform also allows you to share your journey with the professionals, mentors and loved ones guiding you. Professionals from your school or organization such as counselors, advisors and case managers, can see your progress, recommend next steps and celebrate your achievements. In addition, parents/guardians can view your profile at your invitation.
Once you create an account, you’ll set up your profile by providing information about your unique needs, desires and stage of life. From there, the platform generates personalized career and education recommendations with the opportunity to explore and evaluate options providing all the information you need to make good decisions. My Colorado Journey will also connect you to existing state agency resources, tools and applications for seamless navigation and task management.
On July 1, 2019 the student version was launched. Students can request to import their previous College in Colorado data into the system. Based on the information provided by the student during their user profile setup, My Colorado Journey will personalize recommended Outcomes. Students can add additional Outcomes to their journey, and immediately begin completing Steps and Goals to achieve these Outcomes.
In August 2019, the teacher professional center became available. This includes the ability for teachers to view their students' journeys, including what steps they have completed for each Outcome. It also provides the ability for teachers to recommend Outcomes for their students.
September 2019, in conjunction with Colorado Applies month, will bring post secondary materials into My Colorado Journey. These are additional tools to help students with things like searching for schools, applying for financial aid, and other features.
Expansion continued in October 2019, including CAM-centric Outcomes and additional sections in the User Profile. October also brings the ability for students to upload documents or artifacts into the system and greater capability in the Professional Center.
Additional legacy tools and additional Outcomes were added into the platform in winter 2019.
Continued expansion is planned for 2020, with an updated Career Clusters Survey, ROI tool and Parent/Guardian access scheduled to be added into the platform. 2020 will also see more Outcomes added and additional capability in the Professional Center.
