My Colorado Journey is a groundbreaking statewide platform that connects individuals to work, education and support services exploration and action planning. Bringing together the best state agency tools and activities in one central location, the platform reduces duplication and saves taxpayers money.
The platform makes it easy to evaluate career and program options, set goals and take the steps needed to achieve them, whether you’re an adult switching careers, a high school student choosing a next adventure or a military veteran transitioning into civilian life. This powerful platform also allows you to share your journey with the professionals, mentors and loved ones guiding you. Professionals from your school or organization such as counselors, advisors and case managers, can see your progress, recommend next steps and celebrate your achievements. In addition, parents/guardians can view your profile at your invitation.
Once you create an account, you’ll set up your profile by providing information about your unique needs, desires and stage of life. From there, the platform generates personalized career and education recommendations with the opportunity to explore and evaluate options providing all the information you need to make good decisions. My Colorado Journey will also connect you to existing state agency resources, tools and applications for seamless navigation and task management.
On July 1, 2019 the individual version was launched. Based on the information provided by the individual during their user profile setup, My Colorado Journey will personalize recommended Outcomes. Individuals can add additional Outcomes to their journey, and immediately begin completing Steps and Goals to achieve these Outcomes. The next month, the Professional Center for educators and caseworkers became available. This includes the ability for professionals to view their participants' journeys, including what steps they have completed for each Outcome. It also provides the ability for professionals to recommend Outcomes to those they work with. The rest of 2019 brought expanded content for post secondary materials, additional sections in the User Profile, and greater capability in the Professional Center.
Throughout 2020, the system has continued to expand. We've created more content, adding Outcomes focused towards adults and professionals as well as additional tools such as the EdReturns tool and Career Clusters Survey. The Professional Center has expanded as well to allow for greater reporting ability and group management. We've also released a new Admin role with the capability to manage professionals within your organization and create custom Outcome templates based on existing content.
Looking ahead to winter of 2021, we'll be releasing a public profile for individuals, Community Service Provider connection to Mile High United Way 211 data, and a new financial literacy & planning tool called Enrich. Spring of 2021 will bring a scholarship search tool as well as the ability for professionals to add/upload lists to create accounts for individuals. Later, in summer 2021, we'll add additional reporting options for professionals and occupation match scores.
